We rang in the new year by going to eat at Noodles and Company, then going to see Red at the dollar theatre, then watching the ball drop at Times Square on t.v. It was fun.
Likewise, my New Year's resolutions are pretty humdrum and predictable, but I feel good about them.
1. Exercise more. To accomplish this, I actually got a membership to Gold's Gym. I have been talking about getting one for months, so I'm glad I finally did it. I am also going to run the Rex Lee Run with my sister, Becca. (Now it is in writing Becca so we have to do it.) I have run this particular 5k 3 times before. My goal is just to jog the whole way and not have to stop and walk. I have started going to the gym before work!
2. Read my scriptures better. Not more, just better. I have a couple topics I am focusing on. I am also trying to study more out of Preach my Gospel.
3. Jacob and I made a goal to go to the temple once a month. (This was Jacob's idea. He is pretty awesome.)
This semester, Jacob has class Monday night, I work Tuesday night, Jacob has class Wednesday night, and I work Thursday night. It stinks. But after this semester, Jacob will be mostly done with school and will walk at graduation, but won't be officially done yet. In November, I took on a different responsibility at work and I now work on the pediatric floor of South Davis. I really like it, but it can be stressful at times.
Jacob's resolutions are to:
1. Expand his talents. Already, he has completed 3 super cool drawings.
2. Explore the depths of new technology. (AKA be more nerdy.) Jacob got a new app on his phone that records video.
3. Jacob's other recurring resolution is to be nicer. 2011 is his year!!
Do you have any interesting or exciting resolutions you want to share?
I have kind of given up on resolutions. I love the pictures Jacob drew. You need to show those to my Mom Jacob. Does she read your blog?
ReplyDeleteI love the drawings and I'm really proud of both of you for your great resolutions. We just have the same old boring goals- save money, do all the things we're supposed to do anyway, and be good parents. Blah blah blah.
ReplyDeleteWish we could hang out with you guys. Also, I've been practicing Dr. Mario after my humiliating loss. =)
Love your drawings, Jacob. Cute cats, maybe not as cute as Charly.:) I, also, have given up on resolutions. Too many to make.
ReplyDeleteThat video looks really cool like an old silent film... but it also looked like it could be a scary movie and I just pictured the cat jumping up at you and eating you or something... creeeepy... also I love the drawings and laura you are cool for exercising... I hate doing that
ReplyDeleteI want to learn how to play chess this year. And I am very impressed with your drawings Jacob and all the other resolutions! (And I am Laura's mission friend... in case you're wondering who's stalking you)
